HExN is proud to announce that our members Shambhu Acharya , Bhawani Lekhak and Ramesh Khoju , along with national and international faculty have successfully conducted “ Difficult Airway Workshop “ on 19/03/2018, as the post conference workshop ( 19th SANCON) in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Prof Thomas McCaughey Airway Workshop was organised by BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in collaboration with Health Exchange Nepal (HExN) on 24 March 2018. Several talks on airway management were delivered by professors Balkrishna Bhattarai & Krishna Pokharel and Drs Shambhu Acharya, & Sabin Bhandari. Thirty-two participants benefited from the workshop. Dr Acharya also highlighted the life of Prof Thomas McCaughey and his educational contributions in Nepal. Dr Acharya also handed over several airway equipment on behalf of HExN to the Rector Prof Guru Prasad Khanal and Dean Prof Chandra Bhushan Jha of BPKIHS. The workshop was co-ordinated by by Dr Ashish Ghimire of BPKIHS.
Health Exchange Nepal is proud to contribute to the annual conference of the Society of Anaesthesiologists of Nepal (SAN) held in March 2018. Dr Shambhu Acharya presented a paper on “Safety in Anaesthesia: the U.K. perspective” and Dr Ramesh Khoju talked on “Overview of Anaesthetist’s Non-Technical Skills”. Health Exchange Nepal also conducted a session, where Dr Jayaram Dasan delivered “Prof Thomas McCaughey Memorial Lecture” on anaesthesia in morbid obesity. Dr Acharya also highlighted the contributions made by Prof McCaughey in education and training in Nepal.
