Update on Flood Relief Work

Nepal is facing severe devastation following the recent floods, and HExN is working with trusted local partners to deliver essential supplies and medical care directly to affected communities. Our volunteers have been active from Day 1.

Working with the local Mayor and community teams, we distributed cooking stoves to affected families — even using drones to reach remote areas. Volunteers continue to clean flood‑damaged zones manually and with machinery, alongside local authorities and the Armed Police. Thirteen bodies have been recovered so far and handed over to the police. Relief and recovery efforts are ongoing.

We are also supporting Dhulikhel Hospital to deliver care at ground level.

So far, £42,000 has been raised and £20,000 utilised. Major contributions include £9,300 from Gujarat Hindu Samaj of Preston, £2,500 from Smiles Across Nepal, £2,001 from Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur (UK) Manchester, and £1,750 from West Kirby Rotary Club. We remain extremely careful with our funds, ensuring every pound is used judiciously.

We have avoided construction projects, as these will be undertaken by the Government in the coming months. Next phase of support include free medicines for chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, angina, COPD and others), explore supporting education for displaced children and create a community space for rest, recovery, wellbeing.
